How to Create a Wow Life

If you’re like me, you probably want a wow life, and you want it yesterday. Consider the idea you’re wow is only in the now, and living the life you love, demands you love the skin you’re already in.

“I’ll be happy when I have —–“; I’ll be less stressed when —- changes —–“; or “I’ll take a vacation when —— is finally finished.” Do any of these sound vaguely familiar to you?

Expectations can often be pre-mediated resentments. Change your expectations, shift your gratitude meter, and alter your level of peace and emotional happiness.

The child who survives on drinking dirty water on a daily basis thinks pure joy is having clean running water in his/her home. The abused wife who battles bruising beatings every week dreams of meeting a man who would never communicate with his fist. The husband and wife who just lost their only child to cancer look at every couple with the chaotic craziness of five kids as having it all. Do you see what I mean?

The next question is obvious; how can you make your now your wow?

In the same way you need breaks for your car; you need reliable breaks for your stinking thinking mind at moments as well. You need to have sure stoppers ready and available to halt your mind to steer clear of the catastrophe to give up the hope of a better past. Idealizing a future which may never exist is only going to borrow sorrow from tomorrow.

Create some breaks. Write down your greatest fear on a piece of paper. Underneath it, write down someone who has experienced that fear and overcome it successfully. Finally, draw an image, symbol, or paste a photo of how you feel when the fear is overcome with a positive result. Use this picture as a trigger to turn your mind around into the wow of now.

For example; if you fear losing your job – write that down. Then – write down someone who got fired and ended up with an even better job in life because of being fired. Say, Walt Disney. Then, create your emotional image, perhaps a person smiling at the top of a mountain which reminds you to keep going no matter what obstacle you meet along the way to remember you’re not finished yet.

My point is this; to embrace your wow in the now, you must let go of that confusing mind chatter to buy the lie that something more is required to feel the happiness you seek in this very moment. Walls are made of wasteful wallowing, and smiles are made with the multitude of miracles moving in this very moment.

Instant messaging, fast apps, viral video’s, life on demand.

Is it any wonder you may feel like you’re a total failure if you don’t have a drive through break through to achieving your dreams?

Change, growth, creating a better life, it’s all part of a process.

Consider this:  Do you go outside and plant a seed in the ground expecting it to mature into a full grown tree in twenty minutes? Are you frustrated, filled with negative thoughts or depressed when it doesn’t happen in a moment? No, of course not. Then why would you expect your living human spirit to respond to laws which are made for the technological and mechanical.?

I recently interviewed Rakesh Sarin a researcher and professor from UCLA who discovered after extensive research one of the key factors to experiencing authentic happiness is the individual’s ‘expectations.’

An expectation can be a moving target and enemy shadow tirelessly chasing your peace, contentment and inner joy.

Can you recall a time in your life when you were injured. If you broke your arm or sprained your ankle you automatically had the expectation that it would take time to heal. You were undoubtedly excited and grateful when you saw yourself making progress toward regaining your original condition. You had a new expectation in light of your injury, and therefore a different base line for what made you happy.

Life is a process. Your spiritual growth is a process. Relationships are a process. Learning is a process. Becoming skilled at a task is a process. Healing is a process. If you’re alive, you’re in some stage of a process.

 

"Am I ready yet?"

 

Be gentle with yourself. Whatever goal, dream or vision you have for improving your life takes time. Enjoy the process of becoming. Live in the present moment. Taste it, listen to it, feel it, touch it, breath it in.

It's All A Process

Perhaps if you alter the unrealistic expectation that something more needs to happen for life the way it is to be a success, you will suddenly find yourself exchanging stressful restlessness for loving patience.

Next time you feel frustrated that something isn’t happening fast enough for you, remember that your agenda is merely a pre-mediated expectation which hasn’t been given a truthful reality check yet.

Your Most Important Relationship

Who is the one person you can name with certainty will be the longest relationship you’ll ever have? The answer of course is – YOU!

If you are going to be spending more time in this life with yourself, aren’t you worth time and effort to discover, celebrate, improve, and enjoy?

Self love and self care is one of the most unselfish actions you can express for yourself and others. Why? Because when you are your best, everyone around you is inspired to be their best as well.

You can only give away the love, happiness, peace and joy in porportion to the amount you posess. You must first own in this life whatever you want to give a way, spiritual gifts included.

You can throw perfume or throw manure, but whatever you throw at someone else has to stick to you first.

It sticks to you first.

Exercise:

What do you want more of in your life? How do you want to feel? Write it down now.

Now write down one simple action you can take today to give this away in your life.
Maybe if you want more understanding you can give away listening to someone with patience and non-judgement. If you want more appreciation, maybe you can send an unexpected thank you card to someone who has been kind to you. If you want more spontaneous happiness, maybe you can surprise someone with a colorful bouquet of balloons. Be creative. Be sincere. Be you.

When you enjoy your own company, others will follow. Don’t expect from someone else what you first can’t do for yourself. Know your strengths, weaknesses, dreams and desires. Learn from others, because you will never live long enough to experience it all yourself.

The seeds you plant today, will be the flowers which bloom in the garden of your life tomorrow. Plant seeds of kindness and you will grow love.

The world needs you. Share your shine. Invest in yourself. Be the best person you were created to be. You’re worth it.

Research shows your mind does not distinguish between the reality of a situation you experience, and the visualizing of an experience you create. Your mind considers both events as real, and therefore ignites the cascade of response accordingly. First, your thoughts, then your feelings created by the thoughts, and then a behavior as a consequence of the thoughts and feelings.
If this is true, then you should be able to increase your good feelings at a mathematical rate proportional to the good thoughts you input into your mind.

Let’s take this principal one step further, and consider the opportunity to “rewrite” the script in your mind.
Perhaps you get a consistent bad feeling every time you pay your bills on line . It feels nearly impossible for you to create a good feeling from a bad feeling producing behavior – paying your bills (who really enjoys paying their bills?). This may be true for you.

ReWrite Your Brain

Did you know you can insert a good thought, which produces a good feeling into the displeasure action, which can help overwrite the feeling you experience from that displeasure task? You can!

Make Yourself Smile Now

For example, you could play a positive blog talk radio interview in the background on your computer, while you are paying those bills. Listening to the happy mind vitamins from the radio show, while you are doing the negative task at hand, offers your mind the opportunity to focus on the new information you are feeding it to process. I like to call this effort, “successful sabotage” because you are deliberately sabotaging yourself for success.

The first step toward achieving any new action is awareness. Once you are aware of what may be catalyzing your unhappiness, you can accept it, and inject a new response to create a new result.

Do these results surprise you?  The fact most people found thier distorded thinking the primary happiness obstacle VS  how much money they had, was amazing.

Money can’t buy you happiness. In fact, the pursuit to make a lot of may be stealing your happiness!

Psycholigist conducted a study on this topic using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Check out this extremely telling information:

“Men making more than $100,000 per year spend 19.9 percent of their time on passive leisure, compared to 34.7 percent for men making less than $20,000. ”

“Women making more than $100,000 spend 19.6 percent of their time on passive leisure, compared with 33.5 percent of those making less than $20,000.”

“Wealthy people, it seems, spend so much time chasing the money that they don’t have enough time left to use in a way that makes them happy. People with lower incomes spend more time enjoying themselves.”

So don’t believe the lie you can’t be happy in these tough economic times.  Most of your happiness depends on the moods your thoughts create-  not the amount of money you have to make.

Scientist report “even small improvements in mood can have positive cascading effects.” These seemingly simple strategies, promise powerful lasting results.

The take-a-way;  your commitment to being consistent and persistent using your happiness tools, is the golden key to unlocking your happiness door.

“Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.” Aristotle

Here are some tips to turn the insanity of unhappiness into the clarity of powerful happy producing habits:

  • 1. Accept ‘You don’t know what you don’t know.”If you don’t know every piece of information on planet earth – you have a reciprocal amount of ideas which you have the opportunity to learn, to help you be happy. That’s a lot of information!
  • 2. Practice “Successful Sabotage”If self-sabotage is setting yourself up for failure, successful sabotage can be setting yourself up for success! Strategically placing positive affirmations, photo’s, or even trinkets, in places where you will be forced to stumble upon them throughout your day, can ignite a positive cascade in your head. Consistency conquers
  • 3. Be a “2 Minute Volunteer” You can’t give what you don’t have, and you can’t have, what you’re not willing to give away. Why not share your favorite affirmation on a sticky note – in your bills, to the people you work with, attach it to your email’s? It’s not the amount of physical time you take to volunteer, it’s the sincerity in your heart with which you give the love away, which matters.

You spend more time with YOU than anyone else. If you can’t enjoy your own company, how do you expect anyone else to?!

Your self-talk is built by your thoughts. Apparently we each have 50,000 thoughts per day. (Who is it that measures these things!) Unfortunately for many the vast majority of those 50,000 are repetitive, negative thoughts – focused on the things you should have done, things that went wrong, how you aren’t good enough, the list goes on.”

Remember, each one of these conversations you’re having with yourself in your head, is being reinforced and recorded in your memory. Not only the thought, but the accompanying positive or negative feeling it ignites – again and again!

You have a choice. Dedicate yourself to implementing strategies which help you win the battle in your mind. Recruit a solid strong army of amazing positive change agents in your head, and dump the junk those negative demolition demons seek to repeat.

Don’t let your happiness come from other people’s minds. Get involved in the direction and quality of your life this very moment. If fact, CONGRATULATIONS! by reading this article  you’ve already begun.

Get more Love in Your Life!

Who doesn’t want more Love in their life? Don’t you want to feel happy, cherished, and treasured? Loving the Love!

Here’s a simple and short equation for how to get more love in your life.

You are how you see!

You Are How You See!

Your eyes are the gateway to your mind, which is the gateway to your thoughts, which is the gateway to creating your feelings, which is the gateway to producing your actions, which is the gateway to creating the person called you. You are your actions!

If your eyes are designed in the shape of love, everything you see will automatically sculpture the image to fit your frame. You see the world as you are, not as it is.

Are your eyes designed to look for the shape of love?

What do you do when you want to see more clearly? You get a pair of glasses to magnify what you want to see, which you can not see on your own power. The glasses become an extension of you, doing for you what you can not do for yourself. No shame in that!

Grab your love glasses and magnify the love you seek to see,
and watch the entire landscape come into
crystal clear view for you!

Exercise-

  • Write down one person and one situation you want to see more lovingly.
  • Now, write down what “more loving” looks and feels like for you on a separate piece of paper.
  • Find a photo which magnifies the feeling of these words (magazine to stick figure works!)
  • Post this image where you will see it at least two times in a day. Bathroom mirror, car dash, coffee pot, the front of the fridge.
  • Start feeling the love!

Here’s what you just did.

You identified a problem and made a decision to change how you feel when you look at it. Then you clearly told yourself what the new feeling of love would look and feel like. Next, you sealed the new deal by taking action, to “successful sabotage” your mind to magnify the positive picture and erase the negative.

The Eyes of LOVE

Your mind will automatically seek ways to achieve the result it is being reinforced to view. You are going to get more of the love you see, the way you want to be.

If you want more love in your life, give yourself the gift through tapping into your eyes alive. You are what you see.
